whoever thought that my people wore leopard skin (well in the case of the costume leopard print) costume thought…. Now what I believe happened (as I actually was effected during the 60’s & 70’s when both the native americans and african americans had to ride at the back of the bus, couldn’t drink at the white man’s water fountain and shop at the “White’s only” stores), so here is my thoughts ……. Uh…… I am a reservation born native american and I have never seen a leopard skin (or print) EVER worn by any native americans!! I do remember the history taught in the residential schools (indian schools) though and there were some tribes in Africa, one of which I consider one of the fiercest warriors which were the Zulu tribe (mad respect for them!!) who did wear leopard skin garments. You don't need our opinion at all on this one! My friend wants to wear this and I want to get the opinions of some native americans. They looked at their list of costume best sellers from the previous year and said, "let's call it this instead!" Then congratulated each other and went to lunch. But yeah, obviously the unskilled designer was shooting for "cavewoman", had the Flintstones in mind, and some genius at the company's legal department said, oh no, we might get sued by Hanna Barbara, tell marketing to come up with another name.
